Sunderland Lustre Masonic Jug - c1825

 

Sunderland lustre jug attributed to the Sunderland “Garrison” Pottery, decorated with a Freemasons / Masonic pattern and two verses.

 

One of the verses is recorded as being used at the Garrison Pottery in the book on Sunderland Pottery published by Tyne & Wear County Council Museums

 

Date: c1825

 

Size: Approximately 7” (17 ½ cm) high by 8 ½ “(22 cm) from the front of the spout to the back of the handle

 

Maker: Unmarked, attributed to Sunderland (Garrison) Pottery.

 

Condition: In good condition

 

The base has a Y shaped hairline crack, with a tighter hairline in the glaze.
